Fossil fuels

All fossil fuels emit carbon dioxide and other harmful air pollutants when they’re burned. When these toxins become airborne, they have negative effects on local, regional, national and global levels. On the other hand, alternative energy sources such as wind, solar and geothermal contribute less than 1% of the total energy-related global warming emissions. Big difference, right?
